Get out in the Great Outdoors

Nature! It’s all around us. Lush green grass, picturesque mountains and clear blue lakes. We are surrounded by some of the most magical settings, yet many of us spend the majority of our time indoors with our eyes glued to the computer screen.

Take a moment and ask yourself, when was the last time you got out into the great outdoors. A good way to get the motivation and excitement flowing for your next outdoor adventure is to research trails, tracks, parks and lakes are in your local area or nearby surrounding area and see what is within a short drive. Getting outside for just a small amount of time each day can have a dramatic impact on your health, mood and level of happiness.

Below are just a number of many reasons why you should disconnect with technology, and reconnect with mother nature:

  • Improves your focus and memory
  • Slows our brains down
  • Brings a sense of clarity
  • Helps to keep you calm
  • Decreases Stress
  • Improves immunity
  • A great source of Vitamin D
  • Arena for active recovery
  • Allows you to spend time with your loved ones
  • Helps you to feel grounded and reconnect with yourself
  • Opportunity to spend more time with the kids
  • Reconnect with animals and nature
  • Sense of community - Allows you to interact with other people

** Tip - Bring a little of the outdoors to your home or work space, with the addition of plants and flowers. Both are soothing, and doing so will help to increase your attention, memory and focus!
