Q: Why did you decide to join Team WAG?

A: I heard a lot of great things about Team WAG through Molly Vollmer so I decided to get in contact with Adee because I really wanted to dial in my nutrition by Regionals. There should be no guessing games at the level we're at so I wanted to make sure I was eating enough and also staying lean so gymnastics will feel easier.

Q: Was there anything about the program that surprised you?

A: I'm just so surprised at how much food - especially carbs – I eat everyday and was still losing weight. It amazes me how much fuel my body needs to feel the best and I definitely wasn't getting that before I started with Team WAG. I didn't realize how much fat I was eating every day and not enough carbs.

Q: As an athlete, your training schedule is intense and varied. How have you managed to stay on track while balancing all of your commitments?

A: I try to make sure I cook all my food ahead of time so it's easier to just weigh it and go. I have my routine down now so it makes it so much easier to stay on track when I know what exactly I should be eating and when.

Q: How has your performance in the gym been affected by tracking, if at all?

A: I feel like I have way more energy going into training now. I'm finally back down to the weight I was in 2014 and I feel great with both my lifting and gymnastics.

Q: What has been the biggest change you've made in your lifestyle since joining?

A: I think the biggest change for me is probably trying not to eat out as much and cooking more for myself. As a college student, it can be hard to always prepare my meals but it's definitely worth it to take the extra time so you can make sure you hit your macros spot on. If I go out to eat, I have a really hard time keeping track of my macros.

Q: What advice do you have for other people considering hiring a nutrition coach?

A: I say do it! It was one of the best decisions I made this year and WAG always make sure I stay accountable every week. It really helps when you have someone who wants to make sure you reach your goals whatever it may be.
