Who or what inspires you as a nutrition coach?

The coaches I’m fortunate to work with. We have an amazing team at WAG, with everyone being generous with their time and knowledge. It’s hard not to get fired up, but such incredible people. Also, clients fire me up every day! Their successes and hardships both inspire me to be better each day.

What is the most rewarding part of your career?

Empowering people to achieve success beyond what they thought was possible. And to change lives the way that mine was changed through WAG and my coach!

Who are your favorite athletes?

Laird Hamilton. Pioneering and groundbreaking in sport, but also fitness and nutrition. He also sets a high bar as a family man. There’s a lot to admire.

What's your favorite part about living in Jacksonville?

Jacksonville. It’s where my sons were born and where I met my wife. However, I’m excited to leave Florida once they’re out of school and move somewhere with more seasons than hot and humid!

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

With my wife. It doesn’t matter what we’re doing, so long as it’s together.

Which of your personality traits are you most proud of?

My honesty. It feels like a scarce commodity these days.

What's something you’d like to learn?

The piano, and the ability to read and write music. But, sadly, I haven’t an ounce of musical inclination in my body. I’ve made peace with solely being a fan, on the outside looking in.

What is something people are always surprised to learn about you?

I read everything Stephen King has written in one year’s time. It was a challenge I set, but also something I wanted to do. The man-made me work for it, too, as with every book I finished and paired down the list, it seemingly kept growing. I feel like people dismiss King out of hand when he truly is one of the most prolific American writers living. His characters and world-building are second to none.

What's the most life-changing piece of advice you've ever heard?

How you do one thing is how you do anything. It has become something of a family credo, to the point that I had personalized mugs made for us all with that stamped on the bottom.

What makes you laugh the most?

Again, my wife, specifically her laugh. I could elaborate, but that’s special to me, and one of the perks and joys of being her husband.
