This week, Adee and her husband, Michael Cazayoux, return to offer tips and strategies on how to make meal prepping and tracking easy when you’re in a relationship. They fill you in on meal prep routines, cooking for two with different macros and dining out!

When you’re in a relationship, meal prepping can be hard, especially if you both have your own unique styles of prepping. Some actually enjoy playing macro-Tetris, standing in front of the fridge putting a little bit of this with a little bit of that. Others would rather make fewer decisions in the kitchen. So in your family, try reaching a happy medium. Consider using an al a carte option from a meal prep delivery service. The protein arrives already cooked and you can add that to something else you’ve pre-prepared, like a big salad. Here’s an awesome tip: send each other a text through MyFitnessPal alerting your partner about food you’ve prepped for you both! Check out our tutorial.

And try mixing things up. For lunch, maybe eat separately, but if you both enjoy eating the same foods together, here are a few strategies that can work for your dinner plans. First, use MyFitnessPal recipe builder to track the entire recipe in bulk. Then you can each weigh out your portions and change the serving size in the app. Second, try out this awesome skillet insert to separate food while you cook it. It makes cleanup easy and you can cook two different macros in the same pan!

Dining out at restaurants is often tough because temptation is at its highest. Making the right choices is all about pre-planning and holding your partner accountable for their decisions. Tip: Enter your meal into MyFitnessPal before you head into the restaurant so you’ll already know what you’ll be eating. Once you’re dining, give your partner a little nudge of accountability if they start to stray when ordering.
