The Power of Choice

Every decision we make is done by choice — even when we decide to do nothing.

Each of us has the power of choice, yet often fail to recognize this. When we label ourselves as stuck, trapped or helpless, we allow ourselves to be caught in negative thinking patterns.

The way we respond to experiences and situations is within our own control. With greater awareness, we can learn to direct our thoughts to react in a way that best serves us — rather than reacting by habit.

Becoming more aware and responsible for our decisions allows us to:

  • Be proactive, not reactive
  • Feel a sense of freedom over confinement
  • Choose happiness, rather than sadness
  • Come from a place of love, not fear
  • Foster positivity, not negativity
  • Value ourselves and our needs over the needs of others

Stop for a moment now and think about the choices you’ve made today. Were these choices in line with your current goals, dreams and priorities? If not, why?
