Pam spent most of her working life in corporate America before making the transition into nutrition coaching after a stint as a CrossFit box owner! When she’s not coaching her WAG clients, you can find her at the gym working out or hanging with her husband of 28 years and her five dogs. Get to know a little more about her:

What originally got you interested in nutrition and fitness?

Rachel McLish, a 1980’s bodybuilder, got me interested in fitness. She won the first ever IFBB Ms. Olympia contest in 1980, and I saw her on a TV interview. It was the first time I had seen a female with a beautiful, muscular build. While I never got into bodybuilding, I was always in awe of her physique, and it did start an interest of adding a few dumbbells and machines versus just getting on the stair stepper at the Y. When I joined a CrossFit box in 2011, my interest was really piqued as I enjoyed the barbell work, and it was the first time I had considered food as actually fuel for not only performance and recovery but also how it could impact my energy levels and health as I aged.

What is one thing your most successful nutrition clients have in common?

Planning and meal prepping for sure. Neither takes a lot of time once you’ve put in the reps and it can be daunting and intimidating at first. But just like any new skill, you get faster and more efficient the more you do it.

What’s an essential part of your daily routine?

Training. I love training. I love going to the gym and feeling accomplished when I leave. Yeah, there are bad training days and days that I’m not as motivated but I always feel so much better for going than if I had chosen not to go.

What's your favorite part about living in Mocksville, NC?

Our closest neighbors are cows and lots of wildlife. It’s a small town with the convenience of a larger city only 15 minutes away.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

Get up late, have a great cup of coffee outside, prepare a large, late breakfast, go for a walk in one of our fields with my dogs, sit on my front porch and watch them play, go to an early dinner and then watch something light on TV while having a bowl of Breyers Chocolate Truffle ice cream.

What song always gets you out on the dance floor?

It’s My Life by Bon Jovi.

What's something you’d like to learn?

I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride a horse. It’s still on my bucket list for when I have time to truly invest in it.

What’s your favorite aisle in the grocery store?

The aisle closest to the exit. I hate going to the grocery store! LOL.

What exotic animal would you like to have as a pet?

Easy, easy question … a capuchin monkey like the one that Ross had on “Friends” (minus the shoe ritual … if you know, you know, haha)

What makes you laugh the most?

Watching baseball with my 82-year-old mother as well as her other many antics.
