If there are two people who understand the desire to give back and serve the fitness and nutrition community, it’s Adee and Michael Cazayoux. This week, they’re walking you through the necessary steps to go from being coached to being the coach.

Step One: Educate Yourself

Witnessing your own transformation after working with a coach can create such a rewarding experience that you want to give back, and the best way to do that is to educate yourself on the hows and whys of nutrition. If you aren’t sure how to get started, we compiled a list of our favorite WAG nutrition and wellness resources to get you there.

Step Two: The Highs and Lows

There’s an incredibly rewarding feeling that comes with being someone’s coach, but that high may also have a low counterpart. Adee and Michael’s advice is to prepare yourself to face some challenges and make sure that you’re ready to be committed to coaching even when it gets tough. Your clients may be dealing with struggles in their lives that are especially emotional and, for some, you may be the person that can help get them through it.

Step Three: Continued Coaching

Every single Working Against Gravity coach has been a client in the past — just check their bios. While they do complete extensive training before becoming a coach, their education doesn’t stop there. Every month, WAG coaches continue their training on new topics that may arise related to nutrition or behavioral change. This can mean learning about the keto diet, intermittent fasting, etc. and can be something to look into for disciplining yourself as you become a coach as well.
