Lose weight and achieve CrossFit goals as well as find a way to not use food as a stress reliever.
The program is excellent and while I am sure the other coaches are just as awesome I am partial and feel extremely lucky to have had the coach I did. She is truly inspiring and each week knew just the right thing to say to inspire me to keep going and get past any setbacks that came in my way. The main lesson I learned is that this is not a diet, this is a lifestyle of living to be healthy and giving yourself the right energy to achieve greatness.
In doing my retrospective I went back to review my initial paperwork when joining. I have listed my first note as well as my updated where I am next to each one:
Where am I right now? What is my "why"?
In no less than six responses, write down the key motivating factors for starting this journey.
I am not able to do more than 2 kipping pull-ups in a row, feel this is due to mobility issues and being overweight
I am now able to do entire WODs of kipping pull-ups and have moved to do 5 or more at a time.
I am also not able to do toes to bar, which I believe is due to stomach weight and mobility as well.
I am now able to do toes to bar through entire WODs and multiple in a row.
Taking the photos for this effort was humiliating and embarrassing; I didn’t realize I looked this bad.
Not really the best thing I could have told myself but it was motivating and the photos keep you accountable and let you know that you are making progress.
My kids need to see their mommy eat well so that they will eat well too.
This has been huge, my kids are picky eaters but food prep and seeing mommy eat better has helped them be more open to trying new things.
I don’t want to buy bigger clothes because I keep gaining weight. I need to move the other direction.
Donated my larger clothes and there is no going back now.
I eat for stress and reward. When things are tough food makes me feel better, I need to find another way to handle the stress in my life and not feel like I am being punished.
I have adopted a much better way to deal with stress and while I can’t do it all the time it is way better than eating (taking a hot bubble bath) It is also a pretty awesome reward.Get Your Coach Today!
