I have been working with my coach for over a year. My initial goal was to cut to 59kg for Olympic weightlifting. I slowly dropped about 9 pounds over 6 months with her help. It was a super easy process, and she helped me learn how to properly navigate social events and gatherings. Previously, I would have gone to events and mindlessly drink/eat everything and felt bad the next day. I would go to events with a plan and stick to it with her help. I was able to compete as a 59kg lifter and placed 2nd at American Open 1. The process of losing weight was simple and I never felt like I was cutting because we would make small changes with my nutrition. We ended up cutting to 55kg over 3 months because we knew I would be competitive at that weight class. Once again, the process was easy, and I was even able to eat 3 meals BEFORE weighing in for the meet! This time I WON the American Open 3 series!
WAG has taught me how to reach my goals while still having a life. I never felt like I was missing out on anything and I am so proud of the progress I made both physically and mentally.
