My main goal was to make weight for USAW competitions. I started at 98 kg and down 8.8 kg. The goal is to maintain for my 87 kg weight class.
I LOVE WAG! Starting the program was a huge step for me and I thought it was just going to be tracking my macros so I could hit a certain weight class but WAG has helped me with so much more than just my nutrition. My coach and I have gone through so much! From the stresses of moving to preparing for USAW Senior Nationals to my first cut for a competition! The last year has taught me so much in the ways of understanding the impact of my mindset and attitude towards training and nutrition in ways I never could have expected!
When I first started with WAG I was just coming out of a Collegiate Track and Field program as a shot-putter and I was just trying to learn how to cook for myself, let alone actually paying attention to what I was eating. The past year has been a huge transformation for me and not just on the scale. I added over 30 kg to my back squat, 12 kg to my clean and jerk and almost 10 kg onto my snatch! All while dropping a weight class and maintaining my body weight about 8-9 kg under what I was used to (which included having to buy a smaller weightlifting belt!!).
I have won medals at three national meets this year and working for more but more importantly, my coach has given me the resources and the confidence I need to take on any problem that I may encounter in my training or nutrition. I am so ready to take on the next year with my coach and the #teamWAG community by my side!
