My goal was to obtain better body composition, gain energy, feel better, and to gain confidence and freedom in my food program. I come from a disordered and restrictive past when it comes to my diet, and this was made worse by a non-educated program that had me on 900 calories and next to nothing carbs while lifting and doing high-intensity CrossFit workouts. That obviously left me frustrated and feeling terrible and before joining WAG I was at the end of my rope from cutting so much.
I am down 15 pounds and currently maintaining my weight!
I absolutely cannot say enough good things about my experience with WAG. My coach was not only a wealth of knowledge and resources for nutrition but also basically a therapist and always so understanding and patient with me through the whole process. Coming from such a restrictive past I had mental hangups that she has helped me work through and was always there with valuable suggestions to any and all questions/concerns/freakouts I had.
I am now eating probably three times what I used to and no longer have "bad" or "good" foods (Spoiler; carbs are really awesome, you can and should eat lots of them), I have fun creating all kinds of new recipes and I am not nervous about eating out or traveling or other out of the norm situations. This is a program that works in any and every situation. I have been able to achieve a body composition I never thought I could while eating so much and we are now working on maintenance. I am beyond thrilled with the things I have achieved physically, but equally as rewarding and important are the mental gains I have made and how much better I know (and listen to) my body.
If you give your body what it actually needs, it's amazing what can happen :) What makes WAG different than any other program is how much they understand that the mental part of nutrition is essential and that they take the time to really get to know clients and help with that aspect as well. I have been so inspired that I actually recently obtained my Precision Level One Certification and am on the waitlist to hopefully coach for WAG myself and help others in the same way!
