When I started WAG, I was looking for a way to live and maintain. I had lost a bunch of weight, and the fear was always that I'd gain it back. I needed a way to feel OK about eating. I couldn't deal with having to live in fear. Over the course of finding the real me, I have lost 70 pounds. Not all of it with WAG, but we'll get to that part in a bit.
WAG has helped me on several fronts. First and foremost, it has given me a technique for eating that removes guilt, allows me flexibility, and lets me enjoy eating. That's really important and shouldn't be understated. Second, WAG has helped me get in the best shape of my life while, at the same time, enjoying carbs (so many carbs...).
Finally, WAG has been a community of like-minded people, dealing with the same challenges, sharing information, recipes, and support. Understanding that choices make a difference, and choices are possible is a huge deal. Learning that 3 skittles are 3 grams of carbs was also pretty important during the process.
