I decided to reach out to WAG to help me cut from the 63kg weight class to the 57/58kg weight class for both Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting.
As an athlete competing in strength sports, aesthetics are NOT prioritized. My body is simply a reflection of what it needs to look like for me to perform at my best. That being said, following the nutritional approach utilized by WAG has produced a body that now reflects the hard work I put in at the gym. Although my goals were not related to my physical appearance, improved body composition was an inevitable outcome of fueling my body properly. My performance has steadily improved throughout my time with WAG, as I continue to see strength gains despite my weight loss.
I have used numerous other nutritional approaches in the past to compliment my training. Joining WAG has been the most successful for me due to its individualized approach. Having a flexible diet that can be customized to my lifestyle and preferences has greatly improved my adherence. Although the idea of macronutrient tracking may seem a bit tedious, the benefits far outweigh the perceived inconvenience. I plan to continue working with my WAG coach to really hone in on my individual diet needs and continue to maximize my potential as a 58kg lifter!
