Goal

To lose the weight I gained during my pregnancy, regain my muscle tone and learn to love my post-baby body.

WAG has been an incredible experience for me. I was familiar with macros before getting pregnant and worked to track through my pregnancy. When my son was born, I was eager to get back at it and lose the baby weight. I knew I needed accountability and someone to help me know how much I should be eating while nursing. However, I was hesitant to join because I didn't want to lose my milk supply from lack of calories. I was placed with my coach, Ivette, who has been absolutely incredible through my whole journey. She kept my milk supply our top priority as we work together, ensuring that I always had enough calories for a strong supply, but also helped me to drop weight. She listened to be complain about not seeing results as quick as I wanted and always pointed out positive changes in my body as they were happening even if the scale wasn't moving.

I wanted quick results, but have realized that change doesn't happen overnight. Through my consistent coaching, I have found the benefit of fueling my body with real food for optimal performance (and the occasional Ben and Jerry's). I have worked incredibly hard to stay consistent, track daily, through holidays, trips, and days where I am running on minimal sleep. I have had my share of "bad days," but I found the most important thing about bad days is being ok with starting over the next day. Now I can say that the results are well worth the hard work and patience. Though my body is completely different than it was before I had my son, I am more comfortable in my skin than I ever thought I would be and I am even more proud of what my body can do!

Because of WAG, I have learned that nutrition is the biggest factor in weight-loss and body composition. I had always lived by the thought that workouts were number one. Through my WAG experience, I have learned that taking a rest day in order to prep my meals for the remainder of the week is more beneficial than the workout itself. I have learned to fuel my body with what I NEED, not what I want. My journey has not been an easy one, learning how to balance a full-time job, workouts, meal prepping, and being a wife and mom, but it IS possible! I am so thankful for my experience with WAG, the community we share, and for my coach, Ivette, for always staying positive, being patient with my low days, and helping me celebrate my successes, no matter how small.
