My goal was to lose a few pounds to optimize performance for the AGOQ in order to make the CrossFit Games.
I cut first and got down to about 8% body fat but my coach realized I was too lean for optimal CrossFit performance and it was affecting my durability (little nagging injuries started happening) so we then began to add in macros. The bottom line is I am the same weight as when I started but much leaner and my body performs much better.
100% recommend. For me the accountability of a coach who was familiar with my goals was a game-changer.
