My goal in joining WAG was to lose weight and develop lean muscle. I was also hoping to learn how to eat in a way that would provide me with more energy during my workouts.
WAG definitely exceeded my expectations. I train 5 or 6 days a week doing both Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting, but I was not noticing any changes in my body composition, and I would often feel sluggish during my workouts. I knew nutrition played a big role, and I thought I was eating pretty healthy before, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to make the changes I was hoping for. When I started WAG, I noticed right away that I was definitely not eating enough carbs to fuel my workouts before. Although I feared the carbs may cause me to gain weight, I had this amazing change in my energy level within the first two weeks, which had me hooked. I put my trust in the process and my coach, Jessica, who motivated me and gave me great tips to help me through the tough times. Beyond just the changes to both my body composition and energy level, I also rediscovered many foods that I used to deprive myself of before, mainly carbs, and don't have that "food guilt" that I used to associate with them. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the results and will continue to use the new tools I've learned going forward.
