WAG has been hugely successful for me! I have been eating paleo for the past 4 years, including several Whole30's. I have had periods of really great commitment to paleo and periods where I have gone majorly off the rails. But, after an initial crossfit related weight loss of about 10 pounds, I was never able to lose any weight, I figured my body was just comfortable at the weight I was at. I decided to join WAG because I wanted to try counting macros to drop a few pounds, but I know myself well enough to know that I need an extra incentive to stay with a program. Having a coach for accountability was a huge positive for me when i was looking at different programs! When I started, I was amazed at the increased volume of food that I was eating. Even when my macros were at their lowest, I was still eating all day. I have a high stress job (Assistant principal at a middle school) and I often would go all day without eating, because I am so busy. Then I would work out on a near empty stomach and eat all the food for dinner. Preplanning my day and having a lot of food available to me has made a huge difference, and helped me stay away from all the treats that end up in the staff lounge! I have NEVER been able to drop weight this easy and I have learned a ton about my personal eating habits and how my body reacts to food. For example, while I was never a big drinker, I have recognized now that when I drink, my body holds on to water weight for several days and I just don't feel good. I have also learned what foods to eat in the morning to sustain me until lunch and how to evenly distribute my protein. I have 4 more weeks with WAG and thanks to the support of my coach, the thoughtful adding back in of carbs and fat, and the skills to estimate, track and plan my food as needed, I feel super confident at my ability to maintain both my weight and this new way of interacting with food! WAG has made a huge difference for me!
