I had always been active and athletic and worked out a lot, but had never dialed in the nutrition, and even though I wasn't overweight, I had never considered myself lean. I felt like I was stronger and more athletic than I looked. Nutrition was always an aspect I felt I didn't have a hold of, and I saw WAG as my chance to see what I could do when really focusing on nutrition - both in terms of performance and aesthetically. I wanted to learn about nutrition and feel like I was actually in control longer than the short-term, and I wanted to find a way to make it sustainable and still enjoy the social aspects of eating. Coming from an Italian family - food was so central to so many social interactions. I also travel a lot for work and used that as an excuse, so I also wanted to learn good habits that I could translate to work travel. Of course - I also wanted to see my body lean out.
WAG was exactly what I needed. It allowed me to be flexible and still eat many of the foods I liked, as well as flex based on travel and social needs. My body leaned out, sure, but it was the habits and knowledge that were the most transformational.
It took me 7 months to lose 15 pounds. I have been maintaining for the past few months!
