As a mother, the only thing better than knowing I'm taking care of myself is knowing I'm teaching my children to take care of themselves. WAG is literally changing generations!

My original goal was to lose weight. But I learned pretty quickly that my weight was a by-product of faulty thinking. I have lost body fat (while gaining strength!) but more importantly, I've learned how to love myself in places that I thought were unlovable.

I lost almost 30 pounds. My body fat went from 27.7% to 19.6%!

We have seven children, I homeschool the six youngest, and I run a small business. I've always been very active and over the course of raising our children, I've learned so much about whole food and nutrition. But having six children in nine years takes a toll on a body...even when that body is eating whole, organic food grown right on our own land. Even though I can tell you all about sprouting seeds, soaking grains, or making kombucha, I never learned how to actually FEED myself until I joined WAG. Some people can't imagine weighing or measuring food - they say it's too much work or it's bondage. Actually, I've never known more freedom. See, before I knew anything about macros, everything I ate was a question - is it too much? Too little? I'm hungry but should I eat? Maybe I shouldn't eat until 1 pm today? There was so much stress in not knowing what my body needed, so I was always guessing. But WAG taught me the freedom to know how much food I need and as long as I stay within my boundaries, I can eat anything I want. Some days I don't get it all right, but that's ok too. There are days when my relationship with others is more important than tracking my macros, but I've learned to keep a mental note of serving sizes or amounts.

WAG has also taught me to be kind to myself. That I am so much more than a number on a scale or a weekly check-in. That my life matters more than what my body looks like and what is happening in my life truly affects my body. I'm also able to teach my children not just to eat certain foods, but how to eat them. Energy balls made with organic dates and nuts are amazing, but their growing bodies need more than fat and carbs. My teenagers understand that carbs fuel their workouts and even my little children know to eat protein with their fruit or oatmeal. As a mother, the only thing better than knowing I'm taking care of myself is knowing I'm teaching my children to take care of themselves. WAG is literally changing generations!
