Goal

to get to 69kg (lifetime goal weight just perfectly coincides with a weight class)

In the two years prior to joining WAG, I had lost 40 lbs but also managed to put 20 of them back on. I was tracking my food, and had completely changed my lifestyle (went from a couch potato who ordered delivery to a Crossfitter who meal prepped), but I was struggling to maintain the weight loss and the scale just kept creeping back up. I had promised myself that i would try whatever it took to get to my goal weight and not return to my old ways, and I had heard about WAG through friends and social media and decided to give it a shot.

I signed up thinking that I really just needed someone to give me my macros - I knew about the check-in process, but naively thought that I wouldn't really gain anything from it. I have a pretty uncomplicated relationship with food, and I couldn't imagine myself opening up to any degree to a stranger. I have never been happier to be wrong. I have told him this directly, but I truly believe that Crosby and his endless supply of exclamation points and positive energy and support have not only made me a better person, but were the catalyst I needed to achieve my goal of competing as a 69, even when at times it seemed impossible. It was pretty rare for me to doubt myself, but in those rare moments Crosby was there with the answers and the right words to keep me motivated.

It took me 6 months to lose the first 15 lbs, and then 3 months to lose the remaining 15, which I think is what contributed to my doubt along the way. When I mentioned this to Crosby in one of my check-ins post-meet, he had the best answer - "The crazy thing is losing 15 lbs in 3 months would not have been possible the first three months of this journey because we were not fully committed or willing to be as dialed in, so I am happy this part of the journey happened when it did. It taught you how when we put our mind to something and we set a goal to accomplish we can freaking do it." The bulk of my WAG experience has coincided with me going back to school (for a Masters in Nutrition Education, actually) and between grad school and my WAG success, Crosby's words definitely ring true - I am for the first time in a long time realizing what I am capable of achieving if I just commit to it, and I can't wait to see where else I can apply this feeling of invincibility.

As much credit as I give Crosby for my success, the truth is (and most WAGers know this already but the reminder is always necessary) you are going to get out of this process what you put into it. The coaches can only do so much, but it's up to you to do the work.
