You can typically find Jess coaching and competing in CrossFit, reading, doing puzzles or hanging out with her niece, Abigail, and nephew, Maddox!
Jess played many sports growing up, with softball as her focus. She received a full ride scholarship right out of high school to play at UC Santa Barbara(Division 1 program), where she played all four years as a starting shortstop and third base and was honored as captain her junior and senior year. After college and retiring from softball, Jess felt that she had lost her identity. She turned to food and drinking as a way to fill the lost void that softball had previously held. After a few years of being overweight, Jess found CrossFit and soon after found her love for fitness and nutrition. Seeing the changes she has made along her journey has inspired her to share her story and the things she's learned with her family, friends and all the members of the WAG community.
Most recently, Jess competed in the CrossFit Open in 2017 and placed 74th in her region. She also competed in her first weightlifting competition, placed first in her weight class and second overall as a 63 kg lifter. Jess currently has her Level 1 Trainer Certification for CrossFit, her Precision Nutrition Level 1 and is planning to receive her Level 2 Trainer Certification for CrossFit in 2018.
